ESSEX COUNTY AUTHORITIES ARE INVESTIGATING A SATURDAY NIGHT FATAL FIRE

     " A Saturday Night Fire Has Claimed The Life Of Charlie Casiano Of Newark, New Jersey."

NEWARK, NJ.- On Sunday, February 5, 2023, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II announced that The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Crime Scene Investigation Bureau and Investigators from The Newark Fire Department are continuing to investigate the circumstance surrounding a Fire that claimed the life of a 57-Year-Old Newark man.

     On Saturday, February 4, 2023, Members of The Newark Police Department and Newark Fire Department Personnel responded to The 800 Block of Franklin Avenue in The City on a report of a Apartment Fire.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers and Fire Personnel located a Fire inside of an apartment. After the Fire was Extinguished, Fire Fighters discovered a man, later identified as Charlie Casiano, 57, unresponsive. Mr. Casiano was immediately transported to Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville where he was pronounced  deceased at 8:01 p.m.
