Camden City Homicide Investigation

DETECTIVES ARE ACTIVELY INVESTIGATING A SUNDAY MORNING FATAL SHOOTING

     " Camden County Authorities Are Continuing To Investigate The Circumstance Surrounding The Shooting Death Of 38-Year-Old Man."

CAMDEN CITY, NJ.- On Sunday, February 12, 2023, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez jointly announced that Detectives are continuing their investigation into the Sunday Morning Fatal Shooting of a Camden City man.


     On Sunday, February 12, 2023, at approximately 4:15 a.m., Members of The Camden County Police Department responded to The 1500 Block of Pershing Street in Camden on a report of a man being Shot.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, later identified as Dwayne Atkins, 38, of Camden City suffering from a Gunshot Wound. Mr. Atkins was immediately transported to Cooper University Hospital where he succumbed to his injury and was subsequently pronounced deceased at 5:09 a.m. 


     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No Arrests have been made at this time.
