ESSEX COUNTY HOMICIDE TASK FORCE CONTINUING TO INVESTIGATE TUESDAY'S FATAL SHOOTING

     "Detectives Continuing Their Investigation Into The Circumstances Surrounding The Shooting Death Of A 29-Year-Old Newark Man."

NEWARK, NJ.- On Friday, January 27, 2023, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II announced that Detectives of The Essex County Homicide & Major Crimes Task Force are continuing their investigation into Tuesday afternoon Fatal Shooting of a 29-Year-Old Newark, New Jersey man.

     On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at approximately 5:26 p.m., Members of The Newark Police Department responded to The 100 Block of Clinton Avenue in The City on a report of a Shooting.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Doukoure Boubacar, 29, of Newark on the ground in a Parking Lot unresponsive having sustained a Gunshot Wound. Mr. Boubacar was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No Arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with any information regarding the Shooting Death of Mr. Boubacar is urged to contact The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Tips Line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
