CLIFTON NEW JERSEY MAN CHARGED IN THE FATAL STABBING OF HIS COUSIN ON NEW YEAR'S EVE
" Motasem Ramadan Has Been Charged With Murder & Weapons Offenses In The Stabbing Death Of Waleed Ramadan."

CLIFTON, NJ.- On Sunday, January 1, 2023, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi jointly announced that a 25-Year-Old Clifton man has been Charged with Murder and Weapons Offenses in The New Year's Eve Fatal Stabbing of his Cousin.
On Saturday, December 31, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Members of The Clifton Police Department responded to a residence located at 25 Van Cleve Avenue in Clifton, New Jersey on a report of an individual Bleeding.
Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered a man, later identified as Waleed Ramadan, 22, of Clifton lying on the ground suffering from multiple Stab Wounds to his Neck and Face. Mr. Ramadan was immediately transported to Saint Mary's Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased a short time later.
An ensuing investigation by Members of The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office Fatal Investigations Unit in conjunction with Detectives from The Clifton Police Department determined that the Mr. Ramadan's Cousin Motasem Ramadan, 25, of Clifton Stabbed Mr. Ramadan multiple times during an altercation.
Motasem Ramadan was Arrested after a brief struggle with Police Officers and Charged with First Degree Murder; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; Third Degree Resisting Arrest; and Third Degree Assault on a Police Officer.
Mr. Ramadan was processed on the Charges and remanded to The Passaic County Jail in Paterson, New Jersey pending his First Appearance and Detention Hearing which will be held in Passaic County State Superior Court.
If Convicted on the Charges Motasem Ramadan will face the potential of Life in New Jersey State Prison.
