Forked River Man Charged

FORKED RIVER MAN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH THE MURDER OF HIS WIFE

     " Jeremy Cruz Of Forked River Charged For The Murder & Dumping His Wife's Body Alongside An Ocean Township Road."

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ.- On Monday, October 31, 2022, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced that a Forked River, New Jersey man has been Arrested and Charged with the Death of his Wife and for leaving her body alongside a roadway in Ocean Township, New Jersey.


     Jeremy B. Cruz, 51, of Forked River, New Jersey has been Charged with First Degree Murder in connection with the Death of 51-Year-Old Dawn Cruz.



     On Sunday, October 30, 2022, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Members of The Ocean Township Police Department responded to the area of Asbury and Colonial Avenues following a report from a concerned motorist, that a woman had sustained serious injuries. Upon arrival, Police Officers located a woman, later identified as Dawn Cruz who had succumbed to her injuries. Ms. Cruz was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.


     During the preliminary investigation, the woman's husband Jeremy B. Cruz turned himself into The Berkeley Township Police Department in Ocean County.


     The joint investigation by Monmouth and Ocean County Authorities resulted in Mr. Cruz being Charged with First Degree Murder. Mr. Cruz was processed on the Charged and remanded to The Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold, New Jersey pending his First Appearance and Detention Hearing in Monmouth County State Superior Court.


     If Convicted on The Charge of First Degree Murder, Mr. Cruz will face the potential of Life in New Jersey State Prison.
