BREAKING: Active Homicide Investigation

MERCER COUNTY AUTHORITIES ARE INVESTIGATING A HOME INVASION THAT HAS KILLED ONE AND HAS LEFT TWO INJURED

     " Possible Home Invasion On Hewitt Street In Trenton Last Night Has Claimed The Life Of Trenton Man & Has Left 2 Suffering From Gunshot Wounds."

TRENTON, NJ.- Today, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced, The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and The Trenton Police Department are actively investigating Shooting that occurred early Wednesday night in Trenton.


     On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, Members of The Trenton Police Department responded to The 200 Block of Hewitt Street in the City, on a report of a man being Shot. Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man suffering from a Gunshot Wound to his hand. The man was immediately transported to Capital Health Medical Center for treatment.


     While investigating at the scene, Police Officers learned that two other Gunshot victims had arrived at Saint Francis Medical Center. One of the men was treated for a Gunshot Wound to his leg, the other man, later identified as Jomar Rodriguez, 29, of Trenton, succumbed to Multiple Gunshot Wounds to his Chest and was subsequently pronounced deceased.


     The preliminary investigation indicates the Shooting was the result of a Home Invasion. No arrests have been and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
