MAYS LANDING, NJ.- On Friday, August 19, 2022, Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds announced that a Brigantine, New Jersey woman has been Charged with Vehicular Homicide in connection to a Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident in which she Struck and Killed a Brigantine man on Saturday, June 26, 2022.
Bao " Joanna " Huynh, 34, of Brigantine, New Jersey, has been Charged with Second Degree Vehicular Homicide by Recklessly operating a vehicle causing the Death of Hector Salgado, 54, of Brigantine, New Jersey. Ms Huynh has been Additionally Charged with Reckless and Careless Driving.
On Saturday, June 26, 2021, at approximately 12:17 p.m., Members of The Brigantine Police Department responded to a report of a Motor Vehicle Accident. Upon arrival, Police Offices found a Honda Civic driven by Ms. Huynh had Struck a van that Mr. Salgado was loading. Mr. Salgado was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A subsequent investigation determined that the use of numerous drugs rendered Ms. Huynh unable to operate the vehicle.
The investigation was conducted by The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Crash Investigations Unit in conjunction with The Brigantine Police Department.
