Sayreville Man Charged With Murder

63 YEAR OLD SAYREVILLE MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER IN THE DEATH OF HIS GIRLFRIEND

     " Michael Hodges Has Been Charged With Murder & Aggravated Assault In The Death Of Barbara Andronico."

SAYREVILLE, NJ.- On Thursday, May 26, 2022 Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Sayreville Police Chief John Zebroski announced a Sayreville, New Jersey man has been Arrested and Charged in connection with the Murder of Barbara Andronico, 62, of Sayreville, New Jersey.

     On Thursday, May 19, 2022, at approximately 3:48 a.m., Members of The Sayreville Police Department responded to The Winding Woods Apartment Complex on a report of an Unresponsive Woman.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers located Ms. Andronico who was unresponsive. Ms. Andronico was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.

     An ensuing investigation conducted by Sayreville Police Detective Brian Szkodny and Detective Walter Kelley of The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office determined that Michael Hodges, 63, of Sayreville as the person responsible for the Death of Ms. Andronico. Mr. Hodges was residing and was the boyfriend of Ms. Andronico.

     On Thursday, May 19, 2022, Mr. Hodges was Arrested and Charged with One Count of First Degree Murder; One Count of Second Degree Aggravated Assault; and One Count of Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

     Mr. Hodges is currently lodged in The Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending a Detention Hearing in Middlesex County State Superior Court.
