TRENTON, NJ.- On Monday, March 14, 2022 Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced a Trenton, New Jersey man has been Arrested and Charged for the December 11, 2021 Fatal Shooting that occurred outside a bar on Chambers Street in Trenton, New Jersey.
Yancy Young, 33, has been Charged with First Degree Murder; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Second Degree Unlawful Possession of Weapon.
Mr. Young was served with the Charges last week at The Mercer County Correction Center where he is being held on an unrelated Charge. The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion to Detain Mr. Young pending Trial.
The Charges stem from an investigation by Members of The Mercer County Homicide Task Force in conjunction with he Trenton Police Department.
On December 11, 2021, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Members of The Trenton Police Department responded to a report of a person shot in front of 931 Chambers Street. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a victim, later identified as 25-Year-Old Michael Degrasse Jr., located on the side of Championship Bar suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Mr. Degrasse was immediately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and pronounced deceased a short time later.
