OLD BRIDGE MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER FOR HIT AND RUN PEDESTRIAN CRASH

FREEHOLD, NJ.- On Wednesday, February 23, 2022 Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey announced that a Middlesex County man has been Arrested and Charged in connection with a Hit and Run incident that left an Off-Duty Aberdeen Police Department Lieutenant hospitalized on Monday.
Christopher Uszenski, 49, of Old Bridge, New Jersey has been Charged with First Degree Attempted Murder; and Third Degree Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Collision with Serious Bodily Injury.
On Monday, February 21, 2022, Members of The Aberdeen Police Department responded to the area of North Concourse and Wayside Drive in the Cliffwood Beach Section of Aberdeen Township on a report of a Motor Vehicle Pedestrian Collision. Upon arrival, Police Officers located a victim, identified as Lt. Craig Hausmann, having sustained injuries by a vehicle that Fled Scene.
According to the preliminary investigation, Authorities discovered that Lt. Hausmann had been attempting to Stop the Mr. Uszenski for Driving Erratically in the area where he was struck. The ensuing investigation which included Members of The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Serious Collision Analysis Response Team and Keyport and Old Bridge Police Departments, quickly led to Mr. Uszenski being identified as the Individual Responsible for Striking Lt. Hausmann, and he and his vehicle, were located on Pomona Boulevard in Old Bridge.
After being Arrested and Processed on the Charges Mr. Uszenski was lodged in The Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a First Appearance in Monmouth County State Superior Court.
