MIDDLESEX COUNTY AUTHORITIES CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE AN EDISON TOWNSHIP FATAL CRASH

EDISON, NJ.- On Wednesday, February 9, 2022 Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Edison Township Police Chief Thomas Bryan announced Detectives continue to look for answers surrounding a late Tuesday night single crash that claimed the lives of two and has left two hospitalized in critical condition.
On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at approximately 10:17 p.m., Members of The Edison Township Police Department responded to the Southbound Lane of Route 1 near Jeff Street on a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash. Upon arrival Police Officer located a single vehicle with four occupants, that had struck a tree.
The driver of the vehicle, Ziyad Elsaedi, 21, of North Plainfield, New Jersey and the front seat passenger of the vehicle, were immediately transported nearby hospital along with two other critically injured passengers. Mr. Elsaedi and the front seat passenger, whose identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later. The two other passengers remain hospitalized in critical condition.
