PASSAIC COUNTY AUTHORITIES ARREST A MAN ON SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES
" 26-Year-Old Man Charged With Second Degree Sexual Assault & Child Endangerment For Committing The Alleged Assault When He Was A Juvenile."

PATERSON, NJ.- On Wednesday, February 9, 2022 Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announced the Arrest of a 26-Year-Old Paterson, New Jersey man. The suspect was Arrested on Monday, February 7, 2022, after an investigation conducted by The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit.
The suspect has been Charged with One Count of Second Degree Sexual Assault; and One Count of Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
On December 23, 2021, The Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit to report that a Seventeen-Year-Old Child had disclosed having been Sexually Abused in the past by the suspect. Prosecutor’s Office Detectives were able to interview multiple witnesses, and it was determined that the suspect had Sexually Abused the victim on Multiple Occasions at a residence in Paterson, New Jersey. At the time the offenses took place, the man was under the Age of Eighteen, and was therefore Charged as a Juvenile Offender. Following the Arrest, the man was released on an electronic monitoring bracelet pending his first appearance in Passaic County Family Court.
If Convicted, The Sentencing Exposure for a Juvenile Offender on Second Degree Sexual Assault, is Three Years in a State Correctional Facility and on Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, is Two Years in a State Correctional Facility.
