EDISON TOWNSHIP NEW JERSEY MAN SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS IN PRISON FOR CAUSING THE DEATH OF ROBBINSVILLE NEW JERSEY MAN

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ.- On Friday, January 28, 2022 Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and New Brunswick Police Director Anthony A. Caputo announced an Edison man has been Sentenced to New Jersey State Prison for Causing the Death of a Robbinsville man in a crash that occurred on Route 1 South in New Brunswick on the night of October 1, 2020.
On October 1, 2020, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Members of The New Brunswick Police Department responded to a Motor Vehicle Crash on Route 1 South.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a Crash involving three vehicles. An ensuing investigation conducted by The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office and The New Brunswick Police Department determined that Arsalan Gul, 22, of Edison, New Jersey was operating an Infiniti Sedan on Route 1 South, collided into a Honda Civic disabling it in the roadway where it was struck by another vehicle.
The driver of the Civic, Brian O'Donnell of Robbinsville, New Jersey who sustained critical injuries was immediately transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Mr. Gul was eventually Charged and Plead Guilty to Second Degree Vehicular Homicide and Driving While Intoxicated.
On Friday, January 28, 2022, The Honorable Pedro J. Jimenez, J.S.C. Sentenced Mr. Gul to a term of Seven Years in New Jersey State Prison pursuant to The No Early Release Act. The Sentence will require Mr. Gul to serve Eighty Five Percent of his term of incarceration before becoming eligible for Parole. Mr. Gul was also Sentenced to a Twelve Year Driver's License Revocation.
