Tenafly Man Charged

TENAFLY NEW JERSEY MAN CHARGED WITH WEAPONS OFFENSES IN CONNECTION WITH POSSESSION OF A SAWED OFF SHOTGUN

     " After An Investigation By Members Of The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Matthew Panetta Is Charged With Possession Of A Weapon For An Unlawful Purpose."

TENAFLY, NJ.- On Monday, January 24, 2022 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the Arrest of Matthew Panetta, 28, of Tenafly, New Jersey on Weapon Possession Charges. This arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.


     During an investigation by Detectives from The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad on Friday, January 21, 2022, Mr. Panetta was identified as Unlawfully Possessing a Sawed-Off Shotgun. Later that same day, Detectives Arrested Mr. Panetta without incident at his place of employment. A subsequent Court Authorized Search Warrant was executed at Mr. Panetta's  residence in Tenafly.



     Mr. Panetta has been Charged with Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Third Degree Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.
