RALEIGH, NC.- On Thursday, January 13, 2022 Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced the Arrest of Anthony King, 34, of Jersey City, New Jersey has been Arrested in Raleigh, North Carolina in connection with the Fatal Shooting of Ishamell McCany on November 13, 2021 in Jersey City.
Mr. King was Arrested on Thursday, at approximately 11:50 a.m. by Members of The United States Marshals Service Eastern District of North Carolina Regional Fugitive Task Force after Members of The United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force learned of King’s location.
Mr. King has been Charged with First Degree Murder; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. King remains in custody in North Carolina awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
On Saturday, November 13, 2021, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Members of The Jersey City Police Department responded to the area of Grant Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City after Officers heard Gunshots.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a male victim, later identified as Ishamell McCany, 41, of Jersey City, suffering from a Gunshot Wound to the Torso.
Mr. McCany was immediately transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injury and was subsequently pronounced deceased on Thursday, November 13, 2021, at approximately 4:20 a.m.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from The Jersey City Police Department.
