Fifth Arrest Made In Double Shooting

PEMBERTON TOWNSHIP MAN ARRESTED BRING THE NUMBER OF FIVE ARRESTED IN THE BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP DOUBLE FATAL SHOOTING

     " Tarik Jenkins Of Pemberton Has Been Taken Into Custody For The October 7, 2021 Walmart Parking Lot Shooting That Claimed The Life Of Albert Williams & Injured His Father."

MOUNT HOLLY, NJ.- On Wednesday, January 12, 2022 Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Burlington Township Public Safety Director Bruce Painter announced that a Fifth Person has been apprehended in connection with the Fatal Shooting of a 17-Year-Old Male and the Wounding of his Father in the Walmart Parking Lot on Route 541 in Burlington Township, New Jersey in October 2021.



     Tarik Jenkins, 25, of Pemberton Township, has been Charged with First Degree Felony Murder; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; Second Degree Conspiracy to Commit Robbery; Third Degree Hindering; and Fourth Degree Obstruction.


     Mr. Jenkins was taken into custody on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at a residence in Edgewater Park, New Jersey by Members of The U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force. The Burlington County Sheriff’s Department is a member of the task force and participated in the apprehension. 


     Mr. Jenkins has been lodged in The Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly, New Jersey pending a Detention Hearing in Burlington County Superior Court. The case will now be prepared for presentation to a Grand Jury for possible Indictment.


     The investigation began the night of October 7, 2021, at approximately 10:15 p.m., after Members of The Burlington Township Police Department responded to a report of Shots Fired in the Walmart Parking Lot.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered Dion E. Williams Sr., 44, and his son Albert, 17, both of Hammonton, New Jersey suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey where Albert Williams, who was struck in the chest, was pronounced dead. Dion E. Williams Sr. was treated and released.


     The investigation, which is continuing, determined that the parties involved had previously planned to meet in the Walmart Parking Lot. Upon arrival, there was an Argument, followed by Gunfire. Mr. Jenkins had Evaded Arrest since being Charged October 29, 2021 His Co-Defendants, who were Apprehended in the days following the Shootings, include:


  • Kayhree Simmons, 19, of Willingboro, New Jersey Charged with First Degree Felony Murder; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; Second Degree Conspiracy to Commit Robbery; Third Degree Hindering; and Fourth Degree Obstruction.


  • Jayviyohn J. Earley, 19, of Willingboro, New Jersey Charged with First Degree Felony Murder;  and Second Degree Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. Mr. Earley was additionally Charged with Third Degree Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana: and Second Degree Possession of a Firearm in Relation to a Drug Offense based on evidence uncovered while investigating the shooting incident.


  • Kweli L. McCants, 20, of Willingboro, New Jersey Charged with Second Degree Conspiracy to Commit Robbery; and Third Degree Hindering. Mr. McCants was additionally Charged with Fourth Degree Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Magazine; and Third Degree  Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance based on evidence uncovered while investigating the shooting incident.


  • Azza Kamnaksh, 19, of Willingboro, New Jersey Charged with Third Degree Hindering; and Fourth Degree Obstruction. Ms. Kamnaksh was additionally Charged with Third Degree Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana; and Second Degree Possession of a Firearm in Relation to a Drug Offense based on evidence uncovered while investigating the shooting incident.
