TRENTON MAN CHARGED IN CONNECTION TO THE CHRISTMAS DAY ARSON THAT CLAIMED THE LIVES OF TWO TRENTON RESIDENTS

TRENTON, NJ.- On Monday, December 27, 2021 Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced that an investigation by The Mercer County Homicide Task Force, The Mercer County Prosecutor's Arson Unit, and The Trenton Police Department has resulted in the Arrest of a Trenton man responsible for The Christmas Day Fire on Rusling Street, that claimed the lives of two people.
Ronal Ordonez-Lima, 28, of Trenton has been Charged with Two Counts of First Degree Murder; Two Counts of Felony Murder; Two Counts of Attempted Murder; One Count of Aggravated Arson; and Five Counts of Arson. Mr. Ordonez-Lima was processed on the Charges and Remanded to The Mercer County Correctional Center pending a Detention Hearing filed by The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.
On Saturday, December 25, 2021, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Members of The Trenton Police and Fire Department responded 211 Rusling Street on a report of a Fire with people trapped inside the residence.
Upon arrival, Firefighters began efforts to extinguish the fire, which spread to Five Additional homes, and multiple vehicles in the vicinity of the fire.
At the time of the Fire, there were Six Occupants at 211 Rusling Street, Four whom escaped the residence. Firefighters located Two Deceased Male victims on the second floor, later identified as Selvin Lima and Dilman Canpos.
After reviewing area surveillance video and interviewing multiple witnesses, Detectives determined that Mr. Ordonez-Lima set the fire on the front porch of 211 Rusling Avenue.
