HALEDON, NJ.- On Wednesday, December 8, 2021 Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announced the Arrest of Yousef Abdo, 40, of Haledon, New Jersey. Mr. Abdo was arrested on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 after an investigation conducted by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. Mr. Abdo is Charged with Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Fourth Degree Child Abuse and Neglect.
On Tuesday, December 7, 2021 The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office received information that a Fifteen Year Old Child had reported that Mr. Abdo had committed numerous acts of Physical and Psychological Abuse against the child at a residence in Haledon. Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Detectives interviewed the child and numerous witnesses resulting in Mr. Abdo’s Arrest.
If convicted, the sentencing exposure on Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child is Five to Ten Years in New Jersey State Prison and on Fourth Degree Child Abuse and Neglect it is up to Eighteen Months in New Jersey State Prison.
On December 8, 2021 Mr. Abdo appeared in Central Judicial Processing in Paterson, New Jersey and was released on pretrial monitoring with conditions pending disposition of the case.
