Fatal Car Crash Investigation

PASSAIC COUNTY AUTHORITIES ARE CONTINUING TO INVESTIGATE A FATAL VEHICLE CRASH IN WAYNE NEW JERSEY

     " Staten Island Man Was Killed In A Monday Night Single Car Crash In Wayne, New Jersey."

WAYNE, NJ.- On Tuesday, December 28, 2021 Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Wayne Police Chief Jack McNiff announced that on Monday, December 27, 2021, at approximately 8:11 p.m. Members of Wayne Police Department responded to the intersection of Valley Road and Ratzer Road in Wayne, New Jersey on a report of a Single Vehicle Crash. 


     Upon arrival, Police Officers determined that a 2006 Dodge Caravan that was being operated by 28-Year Old Jorge Jaimez Romero of Staten Island, New York, had veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole. The initial collision with the utility pole then caused the Dodge Caravan to spin and strike a second utility pole. Mr. Jaimez Romero was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:26 p.m. The cause of death is unknown at this time. 


     There were no other vehicles involved. The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information may become available once released by authorities.
