MERCER COUNTY HOMICIDE TASK FORCE MAKES ARREST IN CONNECTION TO MONDAY NIGHT'S EWING HOMICIDE

EWING, NJ. - On Thursday, December 2, 2021 Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced that an investigation by The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and The Ewing Police Department has led to the Arrest of a Trenton, New Jersey man for Monday's Murder of Cedric Hennessee Flippin in Ewing Township, New Jersey.
Daryl K. Smith, 30, of Trenton was Arrested Thursday afternoon at Newark Liberty International Airport on an airplane departing for North Carolina by Members of The U.S. Marshals Service. Mr. Smith has been Charged with First Degree Murder; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; Two Counts of Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and Two Counts of Second Degree Certain Persons not to Possess a Weapon.
On Monday, November 29, 2021, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Members of The Ewing Township Police Department responded to Public Storage on Parkside Avenue in Ewing on a report of a possible Shooting. Upon arrival, Police Officers located Cedric Hennessee Flippin unresponsive and on the ground suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Investigating Detectives located a Shell Casing nearby, Mr. Flippin succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
