BELVIDERE, NJ.- On Friday, November 5, 2021 Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer announced that a Grand Jury sitting in Warren County, New Jersey has returned an Indictment against Frank McVey Former Council President. The Indictment Charges Mr. McVey with One Count of Second Degree Official Misconduct; and One Count of Fourth Degree Criminal Coercion.

As part of a broader investigation into Public Corruption and the vindictive efforts of a Democratic Council President to control a Republican Town Mayor.

The Warren County Prosecutor's Office received information that Frank McVey, then Council President of The Town of Phillipsburg, had Threatened the Mayor, Todd Tersigni. The purpose of the Threat was to Blackmail the Mayor so that the Mayor would be unable to carry out his Elected Duties without first getting McVey's approval. Further to ensure McVey's Unlawful Control over the Mayor, if Mayor Tersigni reported McVey's Threats to The Town Attorney seeking help and intervention, McVey would then carry out the threatened action.

The reprehensible behavior of McVey and the sufficiency of the Threat was serious enough to warrant further investigation and the presentment of the information to a Grand Jury for possible Indictment.

On Tuesday, October 20, 2021 the information and findings of the investigation were presented to The Grand Jury, and Indictment was returned against Mr. McVey.

If convicted, Mr. McVey will face a maximum of Ten Years in New Jersey State Prison on The Second Degree Charge and up to Eighteen Months In New Jersey State Prison on The Fourth Degree Charge.
