MOUNT HOLLY, NJ.- On Wednesday, November 3, 2021 Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced that a Grand Jury sitting in Burlington County, New Jersey has returned an Indictment against a 19-Year-Old Pemberton Township man for trying to Fatally Stab a man at a Westampton Hotel earlier this year.

The Grand Jury Indicted Michael Warder, of Pemberton Township, on One Count of First Degree Attempted Murder; Third Degree Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

The Indictment was returned Friday, October 29, 2021 and signed by Burlington County Prosecutor Coffina. An arraignment will be scheduled soon in Burlington County Superior Court. Mr. Warder remains lodged in The Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly, New Jersey.

The investigation began August 7, 2021 after Members of The Westampton Township Department responded to a Hotel in the 2000 Block of Burlington-Mount Holly Road on a report of a Stabbing.

Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered an Adult Man Bleeding heavily from Multiple Stab Wounds to his torso and arms. The victim was immediately airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, and underwent emergency surgery.

The investigation determined that Mr. Warder became upset upon learning his ex-girlfriend might be in a new relationship. He rode his bicycle to the hotel and confronted her and the victim outside of the building. She ran inside the hotel and was not harmed.

After Assaulting the victim, Mr. Warder fled on his bicycle. He was apprehended three days later at his current girlfriend’s home in Marlton, New Jersey by The Burlington County Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Unit.
