East Rutherford Man Charged

22-YEAR-OLD EAST RUTHERFORD NEW JERSEY MAN ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH DRUG RELATED OFFENSES AND POSSESSION OF A GUN

     " At The Culmination Of An Investigation Bergen County Authorities Charge Sardar Habib With Possession Of A Ghost Gun & Narcotics Related Offenses."

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ.- On Thursday, November 18, 2021 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Sardar Habib of East Rutherford, New Jersey on Weapons, Money Laundering and Narcotics Related Offenses. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and The East Rutherford Police Department under the direction of Chief Dennis Rivelli.



     On Friday, November 12, 2021, at the culmination of a Narcotics Investigation, Members of The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force and The East Rutherford Police Department executed a Court Authorized search warrant on Mr. Habib's residence. 


     The search of the residence revealed a 9mm Ghost Gun that was manufactured without serial numbers, a .40 Caliber Handgun Loaded with Hollow Point Bullets and a Large Capacity Ammunition Magazine, Heroin, Marijuana, THC Oil, Equipment to Manufacture THC Vape Pens for Distribution, and over $27,000 in U.S. Currency. 


     Mr. Habib was in the residence upon the execution of the Search Warrant and was Arrested without incident. 


     Mr. Habib was Formally Charged with One Count of First Degree Maintaining a Controlled Dangerous Substance Production Facility; One Count of First Degree Possession with Intent to Distribute Hashish Oil; Two Counts of Second Degree Possession of a Firearm while in the course of Maintaining or Operating a Controlled Dangerous Substance Production Facility; Two Counts of Second Degree Possession of a Handgun for an Unlawful Purpose; Two Counts of Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; One Count of Second Degree Certain Persons Not to be in Possession of a Firearm; One Count of Third Degree Money Laundering; One Count of Third Degree Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana; One Count of Third Degree Possession of Heroin; One Count of Third Degree Possession of a Firearm Manufactured without an Imprinted Serial Number; One Count of Fourth Degree Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine; One Count of Fourth Degree Possession with Intent to Distribute Drug Paraphernalia; and One Count of Fourth Degree Possession of Hollow Point Bullets.


     Mr. Habib was processed on the offenses and remanded to The Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
