Arrest Made In Trenton Double Homicide

TRENTON NEW JERSEY MAN ARRESTED IN ARIZONA FOR OCTOBER 29, 2021 CLEVELAND AVENUE DOUBLE HOMICIDE

     " Gabriel Vilorio-Jaquez Has Been Taken Into Custody & Charged With Two Counts Of First Degree Murder In Connection With The Shooting Death Of His Landlord & Another Man."

TRENTON, NJ.- On Thursday, November 18, 2021 Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced that a Trenton, New Jersey man Charged with Killing two men in an October Shooting was Arrested Wednesday afternoon in Tucson, Arizona.


      Gabriel Vilorio-Jaquez, 33, of Cleveland Avenue, Trenton, has been Charged with Two Counts of First Degree murder;  One Count of Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose;  One Count of Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and One Count of Second Degree Certain Persons Not to Possess a Firearm. 


     Mr. Vilorio-Jaquez was Arrested Wednesday afternoon, November 17, 2021 without incident by members of The U.S. Marshals Service Task Force in Tucson, Arizona. Mr. Vilorio-Jaquez is currently being held in The Pima County Jail in Arizona pending an extradition hearing and eventual return to New Jersey.


     The charges are the result of an investigation by The Mercer County Homicide Task Force. On October 29, 2021, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Members of The Trenton Police Department responded to a Multi ShotSpotter Activation for multiple gunshots in the First Block of Cleveland Avenue in The City of Trenton. 


     Upon arrival, Police Officers located two adult male shooting victims. Everth Barrera, 56, of Ewing, New Jersey was pronounced dead at the scene. Edwin Obdulio Gomez Interiano, 41, of Trenton, New Jersey was immediately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later. It is alleged that Mr. Vilorio-Jaquez rented a residence from Mr. Barrera.
