WEST NEW YORK, NJ.- On Friday, October 29, 2021 Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced, the victim in the October 16, 2021 Hit and Run in the area of 58th Street and Boulevard East in West New York, New Jersey succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
Acxel Rubeni Pablo Ajguejay, 51, of West New York was pronounced deceased just before 3:30 p.m., on Wednesday at The Jersey City Medical Center.
On Friday, October 16, 2021, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Members of The West New York Police Department responded to the area of 58th Street and Boulevard East in West New York on a report of a single vehicle striking a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found one pedestrian with life-threatening injuries. After striking the victim, the vehicle fled the scene.
The initial investigation by The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and The West New York Police Department, determined that a mid-size sedan struck a male victim while he was crossing Boulevard East near 58th Street.
The victim of the collision was immediately transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where he underwent treatment for Life-Threatening Injuries, until his death.
The collision is being actively investigated by The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and The West New York Police Department.
