SOMERSET COUNTY AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING A SATURDAY LATE NIGHT SHOOTING IN FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP NEW JERSEY

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ.- On Monday, October 4, 2021 Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Somerset County Chief of Detectives John W. Fodor and Franklin Township Public Safety Director Quovella M. Spruill announced an investigation into multiple reports of gunshots fired in the area of Franklin Boulevard in the late evening hours of Saturday, October 2, 2021.
On Saturday, October 2, 2021, at approximately 10:33 p.m., Members of The Franklin Township Police Department responded to the area of Franklin Boulevard and Fuller Street in Franklin Township on a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found an adult Franklin Township woman who had sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The woman was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
While conducting the investigation into the shooting, Detectives were notified that an adult Edison, New Jersey man had arrived at a nearby hospital by way of private vehicle seeking treatment for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. It was determined that the Edison man had sustained a gunshot wound from the same Franklin Boulevard and Fuller Street incident.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident and Detectives have not released a motive for the shooting.
