Plainfield Man Arrested

PLAINFIELD NEW JERSEY MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO TUESDAY'S WESTFIELD HOME INVASION AND SEXUAL ASSAULT

     " Terence Rhue Of Plainfield, Charged With First Degree Sexual Assault, Robbery, Burglary, & Related Weapons Offenses In Tuesday's Home Invasion In Westfield, New Jersey."

WESTFIELD, NJ.- On Friday, October 22, 2021 Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Westfield Police Chief Christopher Battiloro announced that a Plainfield, New Jersey man was Arrested early Friday morning and Criminally Charged in connection with the Sexual Assault of a Westfield resident inside their home, during a Home Invasion Robbery on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.



     Terence Rhue, 22, of Plainfield has been Charged with First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; First Degree Robbery; Second Degree Burglary; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in connection with the attack on a Female resident.


     On Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at approximately 12:50 p.m., Members of The Westfield Police Department responded to a residence near the area of Forest and Longfellow Avenues on a report of a woman being Sexually Assaulted by an Armed Intruder.


     An investigation was launched into the attack by Members of The Union County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit, in conjunction with The Westfield Police Department and assisted by The Union County Sheriff's Crime Scene Unit, New Jersey State Police, Scotch Plains, Fanwood, and Plainfield Police Departments, determined that Mr. Rhue was identified as the individual responsible for the attack. Mr. Rhue was Criminally Charged in a warrant, and apprehended by authorities in the early morning hours on Friday.


     Mr. Rhue was processed on the Charges and remanded to The Union County Jail, pending his first appearance in Union County Central Judicial Processing Court in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
