Jersey City Man Indicted

JERSEY CITY NEW JERSEY MAN INDICTED ON CHARGES OF SOLICITING, DISTRIBUTING ILLICIT PHOTOGRAPHS OF A MINOR IN MONMOUTH COUNTY

     " David Lopez Of Jersey City Has Been Charged In An Eighteen Count Indictment In Monmouth County, New Jersey."

FREEHOLD, NJ.- On Friday, October 22, 2021 Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey announced that a Grand Jury sitting in Monmouth County has returned an Eighteen Count Indictment against a Jersey City, New Jersey man for Soliciting Photos and Videos from a Teenage Girl, then Distributing them to family members in retaliation for breaking off contact with him.



     David Lopez, 38, of Jersey City is Charged with First Degree Manufacturing Child Sexual Abuse Material; Five Counts of Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; Three Counts of Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; One Count of Third Degree Making a Terroristic Threat; One Count of Third Degree Criminal Coercion; One Count of Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and Five Counts of Cyber Harassment.


     An investigation by the Keansburg Police Department in conjunction with The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office determined that Mr. Lopez made contact with the victim through Social Media sometime prior to August 2020, and thereafter asked her to send him Sexually Explicit Photographs and Videos.


     After several such exchanges, the investigation further revealed, the victim indicated that she no longer want to have contact with Mr. Lopez, he then retaliated by sending the photos and videos to six of her family members, including children as young as eleven years old. In addition, Mr. Lopez threatened to harm the victim's family, have other individuals harm them, threatening to burn down her house, and further stated, that He could make her life a "Living Hell."


     Mr. Lopez was Arrested at his home on August 25, 2021, after which he was released on home detention and ordered to have no contact with the victim and not to have internet access while the criminal case against him remains pending.
