Jersey City Man Charged

JERSEY CITY NEW JERSEY MAN CHARGED IN CONNECTION TO THE OCTOBER 28, 2021 HOMICIDE IN LITTLE FERRY NEW JERSEY

      " Ray Eduardo Arcentales Sanchez Charged In The Stabbing Death Of A 36-Year-Old Man In Little Ferry, New Jersey."

LITTLE FERRY, NJ.- On Thursday, October 28, 2021 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the Arrest of Ray Eduardo Arcentales Sanchez, 22, of Jersey City, New Jersey on Charges of Murder, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. 


     The Arrest is the result of an investigation by The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and The Little Ferry Police Department under the direction of Chief James Walters.



     On Wednesday, October 28, 2021, at approximately 5:29 a.m., Members of The Little Ferry and Moonachie Police Departments responded to an individual lying in the street in the area of Mehrhof Road and Columbus Avenue in Little Ferry, New Jersey.


     Upon arrival,  Police Officers located Mr. Arcentales Sanchez in the area with blood on his hands and clothing. Police Officers discovered Yuryin G. Herrera, 36, lying in the backyard of 14 Abend Street in Little Ferry, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Mr. Herrera was immediately transported to Hackensack University Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.


     A subsequent investigation conducted by Detectives from The Little Ferry Police Department and The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit concluded that Mr. Arcentales Sanchez Murdered Mr. Herrera with a kitchen knife.


     Based upon the findings of the investigation, on Wednesday, October 28, 2021, Mr. Arcentales Sanchez was taken into custody and Charged with One Count of First Degree Murder; One Count of Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and One Count of Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. 


     Mr Arcentales Sanchez was processed on the Charges and was remanded to The Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
