BAYONNE, NJ.- On Thursday, October 21, 2021 Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced that on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, Members of The United States Marshals Service District of Puerto Rico Fugitive Task Force, in conjunction with The United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force Arrested a former Bayonne man on charges that he Sexually Assaulted a 12-Year-Old Girl earlier this year while living in Hudson County.
Steven A. Rodriguez, 21, formerly of Bayonne, New Jersey, that who had moved to Aguada, Puerto Rico, has been Charged with Second Degree Sexual Assault by Contact; and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
The alleged Assaults occurred while the victim, a family friend, was visiting the defendant’s Bayonne, New Jersey residence in February and March, but were reported several months later.
Prosecutor Suarez credited The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims, The Bayonne Police Department and The United States Marshals Service with the investigation and arrest.
