HAMILTON, NJ.- On Wednesday, October 6, 2021 Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri that an investigation by The Mercer County Homicide Task Force in conjunction with The Hamilton Police Department has resulted in the Arrest of an Edison Township man in the September Fatal Shooting of Dashawn Womack.
George A. Briscoe, 31, of Edison, New Jersey was Arrested on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 by Members of The U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, Mercer County Homicide Task Force, as well as The Hamilton and Edison Police Departments.
Mr. Briscoe has been Charged with First Degree Murder; First Degree Felony Murder; Robbery, and Weapons related Offenses. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office has filed a motion in Superior Court to have Mr. Briscoe detained, pending the resolution of the Charges against him.
On Saturday, September 25, 2021, at approximately 8:20 p.m., while on patrol Members of The Hamilton Police Department located Mr. Womack, 39, in a parked vehicle on Rosalie Avenue, near Victor Avenue. Mr. Womack had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his head, and was subsequently pronounce deceased at the scene.
