Jersey City Taxi Operators Charged With Insurance Fraud

FOLLOWING A FOUR MONTH INVESTIGATION THREE JERSEY CITY TAXI OPERATORS CHARGED WITH INSURANCE FRAUD 

     " Aziz Ibrahim, Michael Ibrahim, & Theresa Ibrahim All From Jersey City, New Jersey Have Been Charged With Insurance & Perjury Offenses."

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- On Thursday, September 9, 2021 Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced that on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Insurance Fraud Unit Arrested three operators of multiple taxi businesses in Jersey City, New Jersey in connection with an Insurance Fraud Scheme after a four-month investigation uncovered they were operating with Uninsured, Unregistered Vehicles , and Drivers. 


     The three defendants were Charged with the following offenses,



     Aziz Ibrahim, 63, of Jersey City, was Charged with Second Degree Insurance Fraud and Third Degree Conspiracy to Commit Insurance Fraud.


     Michael Ibrahim, 23, of Jersey City, was Charged with Third Degree Conspiracy to Commit Insurance Fraud, and Third Degree Perjury.



     Theresa Ibrahim, 47, of Jersey City, was Charged with Two Counts of Third Degree Insurance Fraud.


     The taxi companies operated by the Ibrahim’s include A1 City Corp., 4M Enterprises Inc. and AAA City Bergen Inc. utilizing phone numbers (201) 433-6100 and (201) 432-1111.



     During the investigation, which included undercover airport rides by undercover law enforcement, it was discovered that vehicles being dispatched by these companies were not legally insured and that the vehicles were being driven by unregistered drivers. None of these companies had any vehicles that were lawfully registered with the City of Jersey City.


     The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with any  information regarding these Companies or Individuals is asked to contact the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Insurance Fraud Unit at (201) 795-6400, ext. 6634. All information will remain confidential.
