BERLIN, NJ.- On Wednesday, September 29, 2021 Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Berlin Borough Police Chief Millard Wilkinson announced that a Berlin Borough man was charged Yesterday in connection with the Fatal Stabbing of a Lindenwold, New Jersey man.
On Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at approximately 8:56 a.m., John Teresa, 33, of Berlin walked into the Berlin Borough Police Department and led Police Officers to his Kerhart Avenue residence.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found David Schwartzburt, 38, of Lindenwold, New Jersey in the basement of the residence. Mr. Schwartzburt had sustained a Fatal Stab wound to his chest, and was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene. Police Officers recovered a knife at the scene.
Mr. Teresa has been Charged with One Count of First Degree Murder; One Count of Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
