Arrest Made In 1999 Homicide

MIDDLESEX COUNTY AUTHORITIES MAKE ARREST IN THE 1999 MURDER OF SAYREVILLE NEW JERSEY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT NANCY NOGA

     " Bruce A. Cymanski Of Barnegat, New Jersey Arrested & Charged In Connection With The 1999 Sexual Assault & Murder Of 17-Year-Old Nancy Noga."

SAYREVILLE, NJ.- On Tuesday, August 31, 2021 Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Sayreville Police Chief John Zebrowski announced the arrest of Bruce A. Cymanski of Barnegat, New Jersey for the 1999 Sexual Assault and Murder of 17-year-old Sayreville High School Student Nancy Noga.


     A Grand Jury sitting in Middlesex County returned an Indictment, Charging Mr. Cymanski with First Degree Murder; First Degree Felony Murder; First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; First Degree Kidnapping; and Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in the January 7, 1999 Abduction and Murder of Ms. Noga.


     Cymanski was arrested on Tuesday near his home in Barnegat, New Jersey by Members of The Sayreville and Barnegat Police Departments with Investigators from The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. Cymanski was processed and lodged in The Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center in North Brunswick, New Jersey.


     Cymanski was partially identified as a suspect in the case through DNA testing, according to authorities.



     Ms. Noga a Sayreville High School Senior, was first reported missing on January 7, 1999, after failing to return home from work atb The Rag Shop Store in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Five Days later her body was discovered in a wooded area behind what was the the old Mini Mall Plaza Shopping Center located on Ernston Road.


     Ms. Noga's abduction and death stunned the mostly blue collar community, especially girls that were terrified to walk alone.


     " In the decades since Nancy Noga's death, Law Enforcement has relentlessly pursued justice on her behalf. The advancement of modern scientific tools has allowed that endeavor to enter a new chapter," Ciccone stated.


     Cymanskis arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office Detective Mark Morris and Sgt. Deon McCall, in conjunction with Sayreville Sgt. Daniel Ellmyer and retired Sayreville Detective Sgt. Richard Sloan.


" The Rules Of The Court Require Us To Include A Statement, Which States: The Charges Contained In This Publication Are Merely Accusations And The Defendant And Or Defendants Are Presumed Innocent Unless And Until Proven Guilty Beyond Reasonable Doubt."
