PLAINFIELD, NJ.- On Friday, August 13, 2021 Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Plainfield Officer in Charge David M. Guarino announced a fatal shooting that left one person dead, and another person injured is under active investigation.
The individual that was fatally injured has been identified as Jasper Moss, 30, of Plainfield, New Jersey.
On Friday, August 13, 2021, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Members of The Plainfield Police Department responded to the intersection of West Third Street and Pond Place on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival Police Officers found Moss and another individual having sustained gunshot wounds.
Both victims were immediately transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey for treatment, Mr. Moss succumbed to his injuries, and was pronounced deceased at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
The investigation into the fatal shooting is being led by The Union County Homicide Task Force and assisted by The Plainfield Police Department, Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit, and The Union County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Unit.
