Egg Harbor New Jersey Man Indicted

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP MAN INDICTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE FATAL OVERDOSE OF MAN WITH SALE OF FENTANYL

MAYS LANDING, NJ.- On Wednesday, August 11, 2021 Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill announced that a Grand Jury sitting in Atlantic County, New Jersey has returned an indictment against an Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey man in connection with the Drug-Induced Death of a man on February 18, 2021.



     On Tuesday, August 10, 2021 the Grand Jury returned the indictment against Noel Castillo, 32, of Egg Harbor Township on Charges of First Degree Strict Liability for a Drug Induced Death; Third Degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance; Third Degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute; Third Degree Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance; Third Degree Financial Facilitation of Criminal Activity; and Second Degree Endangering The Welfare of a Child.


     On February 18, 2021, Members of The Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to a residential address, within the Township on a report of an unresponsive male. Upon arrival, Police Officers located Jeffrey Schneider, 33, deceased inside the home.


     An ensuing investigation by The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office in conjunction with Detectives from The Egg harbor Township Police Department, determined that Mr. Schneider ingest a lethal dose of Fentanyl that he purchased from Mr. Castillo. 


     On February 25, 2021 Castillo was arrested at his home in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, Castillo has been lodged in The Atlantic County Correctional Facility since his arrest.


     Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill acknowledges the efforts of The Law Enforcement Agencies for their participation in the investigation resulting in the arrest and indictment of Noel Castillo.


" The Rules Of The Court Require Us To Include A Statement, Which States: The Charges Are Merely Accusations And The Defendant And Or Defendants Are Presumed Innocent Unless And Until Proven Guilty Beyond Reasonable Doubt."
