MERCER COUNTY AUTHORITIES ARE INVESTIGATING FRIDAY NIGHT SHOOTING HOMICIDE IN TRENTON NEW JERSEY

TRENTON, NJ.- On Saturday, August 14, 2021 Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri announced that a Trenton shooting homicide that has claimed the life of a 33-year-old Trenton man on Friday night, is under active investigation by Mercer County Homicide Task Force and The Trenton Police Department.
On Friday, August 13, 2021, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Members of The Trenton Police Department responded to the area of McKinley Avenue and North Anderson Street in the City On a report of a man having been shot.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a male victim, later identified as Javier Chaj-Ajtun, 33, of Trenton, New Jersey, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his face. Mr. Chaj-Ajtun was immediately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, where he succumbed to his injuries, and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
As of 10:00 a.m. this morning no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide, the investigation remains active and ongoing.
