RAHWAY, NJ.- On Sunday, July 11, 2021, Acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo and Rahway Police Director Jonathan Parham announced that the mother of a 2-Year-Old Child who was the subject of an Amber Alert on Friday, July 9, 2021, has been found dead.

Tyler Rios, 27, of Highland Park, New Jersey has been charged with First Degree Kidnapping in the alleged abduction of 2-year-old Sebastian Rios, and additional charges are pending in the death of 24-year-old Yasmin Uyar of Rahway, New Jersey.

An investigation led by The Union County Prosecutor's Office assisted by Members of The FBI's Newark Field Office, The New Jersey State Police, and The Rahway Police Department, led to Tyler Rios being identified as the suspect in the case, after Sebastian Rios failed to show up for daycare on Friday and Yasmin Uyar failed to report for her scheduled work shift. A welfare check at Uyar's home by Rahway Police Officers, found no one inside, according to Union County Assistant Prosecutor Robert Grady, who is prosecuting the case.

Shortly thereafter an Amber Alert was activated Statewide and in surrounding States, by The New Jersey State Police.

Early Saturday morning Sebastian Rios was found unharmed in Monterey, Tennessee, at which time Tyler Rios was taken into custody, later in the day on Saturday, investigators located Uyar's body in a wooded area nearby, off of Interstate Route 40 in Tennessee.

Tyler Rios remains in custody in Tennessee pending extradition back to New Jersey, after which a First Appearance and Detention Hearing will be scheduled to be heard in Union County Superior Court.

Anyone with information regarding this matter is still urged to contact Prosecutor's Office Detective Lt. Johnny Ho at (908) 403-8271 or Detective Richard Acosta at (908) 347-0404.
