Two Men Indicted In Atlantic County, New Jersey

 TWO MEN HAVE BEEN INDICTED IN CONNECTION TO THE JANUARY 2, 2020 SHOOTING DEATH OF ARTURO BARRERA, Jr. III 

     " Leonard B. Ludwigsen, Jr. & Neco J. Pitts Have Been Indicted On Felony Murder Charges & Weapons Offenses For The Shooting Death In Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey."

MAYS LANDING, NJ.- On Thursday July 8, 2021, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced that a Grand Jury sitting in Atlantic County, New Jersey has returned an indictment against two men who were charged for the Fatal Shooting Death in January 2, 2020, of 24-Year-Old Arturo Barrera, Jr. III.



     Leonard B. Ludwigsen, Jr., 26, of Egg Harbor, New Jersey has been indicted on The Charges of First Degree Felony Murder; First Degree Robbery; Second Degree Conspiracy; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose; and Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.


     Neco J. Pitts, 28, of Long Branch, New Jersey has been indicted on The Charges of First Degree Felony Murder; First Degree Robbery; Second Degree Conspiracy; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons.


     The investigation and arrests were a collaborative effort of the following Law Enforcement Agencies: The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit, Egg Harbor Township Police Department, The Federal Bureau of Investigations, Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, Atlantic County Sheriff's Office, Long Branch Police Department, Keansburg Police Department, Pemberton Police Department, The Atlantic County Regional SWAT Team, and The Monmouth County Emergency Response Team.


" The Rules Of The Court Require Us To Include A Statement, Which States: The Charges Are Merely Accusations And The Defendants And Or Defendants Are Presumed Innocent Unless And Until Proven Guilty Beyond Reasonable Doubt."
