Secaucus Public Works Employee Arrested

A SECAUCUS PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEE ARRESTED ON CHARGES OF AGGRAVATED SEXUAL ASSAULT

     " Victor Rodriguez Of Secaucus, New Jersey Has Been Arrested & Charged With Aggravated Sexual Assault."

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- On Friday, July 2, 2021, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Friday July 2, 2021, members of The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit arrested Victor Rodriguez, 46, of Secaucus, New Jersey on Charges involving Multiple Sexual Crimes against a Juvenile Female Victim.


     On Tuesday, June 29, 2021, members of The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit were notified by The Secaucus Police Department about the alleged crimes, which occurred on multiple dates approximately six to seven years ago. The defendant was known to the victim and the victims family.



     Rodriguez, who is employed by The Secaucus Department of Public Works, was arrested at The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Jersey City, New Jersey without incident following an investigation.


     Rodriguez has been charged with Two Counts of First Degree Aggravated Sexually Assault; Second Degree Sexual Assault by Contact; Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and Fourth Degree Criminal Sexual Contact. The Victim was between the ages of 12 and 13 years old when the crimes allegedly occurred.


     After Mr. Rodriguez arrest, he was transported to The Hudson County Correctional Facility, in Kearny, New Jersey pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Jersey City, New Jersey.


     The Prosecutor's Office has filed a Motion for Pretrial Detention for Rodriguez. A Hearing has been scheduled for Thursday July 8, 2021.


     Prosecutor Suarez credited The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit and The Secaucus Police Department with the investigation and arrest.
