A PHILLIPSBURG NEW JERSEY MAN HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO STATE PRISON IN CONNECTION WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT OFFENSES IN FEBRUARY, 2020

BELVIDERE, NJ.- On Thursday, July 29, 2021 Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer announced that Christopher Vielam, 32, of Phillipsburg, New Jersey has been sentenced to New Jersey State Prison on charges involving the Sexual Assault of two juveniles in February, 2020.
On Friday, July 23, 2021, The Honorable H. Matthew Curry sentenced Christopher Vielam to Seventeen Years in New Jersey State Prison with Seventeen Years of Parole Ineligibility pursuant to The Jessica Lunsford Act, and Ten Years in New Jersey State Prison subject to The No Early Release Act. Both sentences will run concurrently with each other.
Upon service of his term of incarceration, Mr. Vielam will be subject to Megan's Law Registration Requirements and Parole Supervision for Life.
These convictions are the result of the joint undertaking by The Phillipsburg Police Department, The Warren County Prosecutor's Office, and The Hunterdon Prosecutor's Office.
The investigation into the Sexual Assaults began in February, 2020. The Assaults occurred in Phillipsburg and Flemington, New Jersey. The first victim was between the ages of Ten and Fourteen, and the second victim was between the ages of Twelve and Fourteen.
