Jersey City Man Charged In Connection With Accident

 JERSEY CITY MAN CHARGED WITH LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT WHICH RESULT IN A DEATH

FAIRVIEW, NJ.- On Tuesday, July 6, 2021, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Danny Vasquez, 24, of Jersey City, New Jersey on charges of Leaving The Scene of a Accident Resulting in Death and Endangering an Injured Victim.


     The arrest is of an investigation conducted by The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love, The Bergen County Sheriff's Office under the direction of Sheriff Anthony Cureton, and The Fairview Police Department under the direction of Chief Martin Kahn.



     On Monday, July 5, 2021 at approximately 3:40 a.m. Members of The Fairview Police Department responded to a report of a Motor Vehicle Accident near the intersection of Broad and Prospect Avenues in Fairfield. Upon arrival, Police Officers located a victim lying in the roadway with serious injuries. The male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.


     Police Officers located a vehicle nearby, a 2008 Toyota Sienna with obvious front-end damage. The investigation furthered revealed that Mr. Vasquez was operating the Toyota at the time of the HiT and Run Collision.



     As a result of the investigation, Danny Vasquez  was arrested and charged with One Count of of Second Degree Leaving The Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death, and One Count of Third Degree Endangering an Injured Victim, in addition, Vasquez was served with motor vehicle summons for Leaving The Scene of an Accident. Failure to Report an Accident. Failure to Maintain a Lane, and Unlicensed Driver.


" The Rules Of The Court Require Us To Include A Statement, Which States: The Charges Are Merely Accusations And The Defendant And Or Defendants Are Presumed Innocent Unless And Until Proven Guilty Beyond Reasonable Doubt."
