PASSAIC COUNTY AUTHORITIES ARE CONTINUING TO INVESTIGATE A FATAL ACCIDENT

PROSPECT PARK, NJ.- On Wednesday July 7, 2021, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Prospect Park Police Chief Ammen Matari announced that at approximately 12:42 p.m. on Wednesday July 7, 2021, Members of The Prospect Police Department responded to the area of Brown Avenue and North 9th Street in The Borough of Prospect Park, New Jersey on a report of a cyclist who had been struck by a motor vehicle.
Yancy Wazirmans, 49, of Prospect Park, New Jersey was operating a 2005 Toyota Corolla, when she struck a cyclist who has not been identified, and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Ms. Wazirmans remained at the scene, presented a valid New Jersey Driver's License, and was not suspected to be under the influence.
No charges have been filed at this time, however the investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released as it becomes available.
