Early Monday Morning Shooting In Paterson, New Jersey

 PASSAIC COUNTY AUTHORITIES ARE INVESTIGATING AN EARLY MONDAY MORNING SHOOTING IN THE AREA OF EAST 23rd STREET AND PARK AVENUE

     " A 35-Year-Old Yonkers, New York Man Was Injured By Gunfire While He Slept In A Home In The Area Of East 23rd Street & Park Avenue In Paterson, New Jersey."

PATERSON, NJ.- On Monday, July 26, 2021 Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announced that at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021, Members of The Paterson Police Department responded to the area of East 23rd Street and Park Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of shots being fired.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers located a potential crime scene and a 35-year-old male Yonkers, New York resident who had sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey for treatment of his wound.



     Based upon the initial investigation, it was determined that the victim was sleeping in a residence in the area of East 23rd Street and Park Avenue when he was struck by gunfire, coming from outside of the residence. In addition, gunfire struck the exterior of the residence and three motor vehicle.


     The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information maybe come available once it is released by authorities.
