A SUNDAY MORNING FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN CLIFTON, NEW JERSEY IS BEING INVESTIGATED

CLIFTON, NJ.- On Sunday, July 11, 2021, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi announced that approximately 8:22 a.m. on Sunday, July 11, 2021, Members of The Clifton Police Department responded to the area of Hazel Street and Van Orden Place in Clifton, New Jersey on a report of a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle.
An investigation revealed that the pedestrian Marinus Lalumia, 81, of Clifton, New Jersey, was crossing Hazel Street near the intersection of Van Orden Place when he was struck by a 2017 Honda HR-V that was being operated by Ibrahim Jadalla, 21, of Paterson, New Jersey. Mr. Lalumia was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No charges have been filed at this time, however the investigation remains active and ongoing. More information may be come available as it is released.
