SHOOTING IN AREA OF ROSA PARKS BOULEVARD AND HAMILTON AVENUE IN PATERSON NEW JERSEY

PATERSON, NJ.- Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announced that at approximately 9:25 p.m. on Wednesday June 16, 2021, members of The Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Hamilton Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival Police located a 31-year-old male Paterson resident and a 37-year-old male Paterson resident, who both sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The victims were immediately transported to Saint Joseph's University Medical Center for treatment for their wounds.
While at the scene, members of The Paterson Police Department were notified that a 36-year-old male Paterson resident, a 37-year-old male Paterson resident, and a 27-year-old female Paterson resident arrived at Saint Joseph's University Medical Center, by way of private vehicle seeking medical treatment for non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
Based on the initial investigation, it was determined that the victims were in the area of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Hamilton Avenue, when a occupant of a motor vehicle drove into the area and fired multiple rounds. A crime scene was located in the area of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Hamilton Avenue.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released as it becomes available.
