SHOOTING IN AREA OF 17th AVENUE AND PENNINGTON STREET PATERSON, NEW JERSEY

PATERSON, NJ.- Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announced that on Sunday, June 20, 2021, at approximately 10:29 p.m. members of The Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Park Avenue and Pennington Street in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival Paterson Police Officers located evidence of a Potential Crime Scene in the area 17th Avenue and Pennington Street, but unable to locate a victim.
A short time later, members of The Paterson Police Department were advised that a 26-year-old male Paterson resident arrived a Saint Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey by way of private vehicle seeking medical treatment for a non-life threatening gunshot wounds. Based upon the initial investigation, it was determined that the victim had been shot in the area of 17th Avenue and Pennington Street.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released as it becomes available.
