NEWARK TEEN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION OF STOLEN VEHICLE FROM FLORHAM PARK

FLORHAM PARK, NJ.- On Monday, June 8, 2021, Acting Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Christoph Kimker, Florham Park Police Chief Joseph Orlando, and The Morris County Chiefs of Police Association, announce the arrest of Tysean Ware, 18, of Newark, New Jersey.
On June 2, 2021, members of The Florham Park Police Department received a report of a 2019 BMW 7-Series stolen from a residence within their jurisdiction. Responding Officers located the stolen BMW on Columbia Turnpike, being followed by another vehicle, which had been stolen from another jurisdiction outside Morris County.
Both vehicles were observed traveling at high rates of speed. As Police Officers attempted to stop the vehicles, they are alleged to attempt escape, by traveling at speeds in exceeding 100-miles per hour.
The stolen BMW out of Florham Park crashed a short time later in neighboring Millburn, New Jersey. The driver after crashing the BMW attempted to flee on foot, but was subsequently apprehended by The Millburn Police and Essex County Sheriff's Officers.
Tysean Ware has been charged by Florham Park Police with:
Second Degree Eluding A Law Enforcement Officer.
Third Degree Burglary.
Third Degree Theft Of A Motor Vehicle.
Second Degree Joyriding.
Additionally Ware was charged by Millburn Police with:
Third Degree Receiving Stolen Property.
Third Degree Hindering Apprehension.
The arrest was the result of excellent Police work by The Florham Park Police Department and The Millburn Police Department. Subsequent investigation is being conducted by The Florham Park Police Detective Bureau, and jointly with the Morris County Auto Theft Task Force, which is operated and staffed by The Morris County Sheriff's Department.
