FIRE BREAKS OUT IN THREE STORY BUILDING ON NORTH AVENUE, IN ELIZABETH NEW JERSEY

     " Elizabeth Fireman Battle Not Only Fire But Extreme Heat Yesterday, & Save Structure Within Minutes Of Their Arrival."

ELIZABETH, NJ.- On Monday, June 7, 2021, with temperatures hitting mid-nineties, Elizabeth Fire Department Officials battled a multi-alarm fire on North Avenue in the City.


     The fire which broke out at approximately 5:57 p.m., in a third story apartment. Flames spread quickly throughout the apartment in which the origin of the fire appeared to have ignited in an window air conditioner unit. 



     The Elizabeth Fire Department and Police arrived at the location within minutes of the initial report.


      Upon arrival Fireman facing extreme outside temperatures  entered the building and began to battle the fire, bringing the multi-alarm fire under control within ten or so minutes. Residents of the apartment were consoled by Fire Officials.





     Elizabeth Police Officers cordoned of the area surrounding the building, and diverted traffic on North Avenue, for approximately sixty minutes. There were no injuries reported, but Elizabeth Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, in case of injuries.



     The Elizabeth Fire Department personal should be credited for their outstanding efforts in containing and extinguishing the fire in the apartment, preventing the total loss of the building.
