JERSEY CITY, NJ.- On Friday June 11, 2021, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez released the following statement.
The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office is seeking the public's assistance in locating the whereabouts of the suspect wanted in connection with the death of 22-year-old Ahmad McPherson, who was fatally shot on Stegman Street and Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City, New Jersey, on June 5, 2021.
Tybear Miles, 25, of Jersey City has been with First Degree Murder; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon (firearm) for an Unlawful Purpose, and Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (firearm).
On Saturday June 5, 2021, at approximately 10:05 p.m., The Jersey City Police Department received a report of gunshots fired in area of Stegman Street and Martin Luther King Drive, in Jersey City. Police Officers responded to the scene and found a male victim with gunshot wounds to the torso.
The male later identified as Ahmad McPherson age 22, of Jersey City, was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 10:40 p.m. The Regional Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be gunshot wounds to the torso and the manner of death homicide.
